How does your application process work?
On our website “Apply” section, there is a fill form which you would complete providing the information requested in the bullet-points on the right of the page, under “Inquiry Submission Details”.
Does my organization have to be a U.S. 501(c)(3) to submit a Letter of Inquiry?
Yes, all applying organizations need to hold U.S. 501(c)(3) status.
Do you accept submissions from organizations who use a fiscal sponsor?
We only offer grant opportunities to U.S., 501(c)(3) status, nonprofit organizations. We are not currently offering grants to organizations who work with a fiscal sponsor.
How long does our organization have to hold 501c3 status before we can submit a Letter of Inquiry?
We require organizations to hold U.S. 501(c)(3) status for a year before submitting a Letter of Inquiry.
Can private foundations apply for a grant?
Unfortunately, we can only consider IRS 501(c)(3) Public Charities as potential applicants.
What is the range of the grants you offer? Are there any limits?
The Creag Foundation offers small grants to nonprofits that are innovators in the community. Grant amounts range from $500 to $5,000, with typical grants falling in the $2,000 – $2,500 range. Organizations which file Form 990-N are limited to a $500 microgrant.
What percentage of applicants receive grants?
Only roughly 10% of those who submit a Letter of Inquiry are invited to apply for a grant.
What is your application process?
Our process starts with the submission of a Letter of Inquiry via our online portal. Selected organizations are invited to interview. Our team reviews all submissions and determines which organizations will receive a grant application. While the LOI submission process is open, grant applications are by invitation only.
Will you really decline our submission if we write that we heard about you through a Google search?
Yes, we will.
